Hey look, Nathan is back ! If you guessed correctly that he was the one speaking in the last panel of the previous page, give yourself a cookie. If not, well I can’t really stop you from giving yourself a cookie anyway ^^
So, after the previous page, I decided it’d be wise to simplify things and make sure to not include big-ass panorama panels unless necessary. Of course, my inner writer doesn’t give half a crap about my inner artist’s desiderata, so the script asked for 9 panels full of characters everywhere AND a large shot. Just to make things easier (read : more effed-up) there were archers, perspective and everyone talking at someone either above or below them. I suck at drawing people with their head up ><
All in all, even if I'm late, I'm kinda pleased with the results. I dread page 157 though, because my inner writer is still undecided about including a panorama panel in there…
Whoooo! An update! Nice to see this interesting group of characters. I don’t remember them, but maybe that’s a sign I need to reread the comic, heh…
I thought that was the fox from page nine but the coloring was different.
Hey, in the last panel, is Morgane’s hair supposed to be silver?
Yep.
Her gem graft in her head changes her hair color depending on her mood I believe.
Mantis-arm is hiding where?
Other than that – very nice page! I like the pacing you are gooing with right now.
Hmm. So it seems that going “home” is not really an option for them. I got several ideas as to why, the foremost being that those implants not only vastly upgrade speed, strength, and healing abilities but also intelligence.
You should put the next page however feels right to the story. And remember: once a character is developed enough, How you wish the story would go may not be how it will go.
Now who are these friendly folk? The pattern around Nathan’s graft looks rather tribal…and apparently the whole pack appears that way. I’m liking the mousie by the way. Her graft looks like an arm-guard.
In the 1st panel, what is the blue-furred creature standing on the rock? Is it some kind of kangaroo?
Bunny.
In that case why does it have such a long tail?
Draco-Bunny.
Someone should really make a mood rabbit chart…
Unarmed marauders, that’s a laugh.
Considering how long it’s been since his last appearance, it’s unlikely that longtime readers would remember him. Unless they frequently reread the archives.
Coming back to this page, I notice something: In the first panel, is Nathan holding some kind of golden or some type of metal/alloy sword? It looks rather epic.
I should hope that its a metal/alloy sword. Gold has very similar properties to lead so is not very good sword material.
Gold has one useful property: it doesn’t need to be reduced from ore. Just find a large enough nugget and hammer it to get the desired shape. It won’t hold the edge, of course, so the end result would be a cool-looking heavy club.
Among other yellow metals there is copper. It’s fairly common and relatively easy to smelt. The colour is a bit different, though.
Or it may be some other alloy. Or even titanium nitride.
A gold club would certainly bend in half at the first strike. Gold is just too soft (not to mention heavy) to make good weaponry.
There will be a bit more info about that sword in the next pages.
Well, it’s not that bad. Gold can make some good non-toxic bullets.
It won’t, if it’s thick enough 🙂
Still, it’s a lot of conditions to end up with a subpar weapon 🙂
If you have a big enough chunk. The weight of the gold would make it a half decent mace for a few swings. It may be made out of bronze whick the ancient Greeks used in weapons. Or it just maybe colored steel. Looking forward to finding out more about that sword.
Ethan, did you update the image on Sunday?
Yes, Morgane’s eye color was off. Probably nothing noticeable but I can be a bit OCD sometimes ^^’ How did you notice ?
It looked like the sword colour changed. So I checked the file date.
Hmm… cant go home, their bows and clothes indicate whatever group theyre with is established, settled, and full of skilled huntsmen/weavers/tanners/bowyers, not to mention metallurgy due to foxy boys sword… throw in the name of the comic, and my guessing our heroes are not the first to escape the lab, and that theyre not in Kansas anymore.
O.O whats up with morgens hair ?
